I had what looked like a “perfect” IT career. Great salary, benefits, stability – everything society and
my mum told me I should want. But my heart felt empty. Each morning, I dragged myself to work, feeling like I hated my life. I was dying inside, pretending to be someone I wasn’t. “Leaving a ‘Safe’ IT Career for an Uncertain Coaching Path” was about finally listening to my soul’s deepest calling.
My hands would shake before every call. I kept wondering if I was crazy to leave my stable career. I questioned if anyone would ever pay me to coach them.
Those early days were extremely hard. I’d pour my whole heart into helping my clients. Then, they would disappear as soon as I mentioned my prices.
Every time someone ghosted me, it felt like a punch to my gut. I checked my phone hundreds of times, hoping for replies. The silence was deafening. I questioned everything about myself. Was I good enough? Or should I just give up and go back to IT?
Right WHEN I WANTED TO QUIT having no money to continue paying rent, I made my first big sale of $2,700 with barely a dozen words. I didn’t use any fancy sales tricks. I just listened and truly cared.
This taught me that being authentic is more powerful than any marketing strategy. That strategy worked, and shortly, clients started pouring in
Success can be deceiving. After years of struggle, I’d built what seemed perfect – a coaching business generating $10,000 monthly 💰. But it was not enough for me!
I met business partners who painted a seven-figure coaching empire with packed workshops and a team of coaches under our brand.
While I focused on helping clients transform their lives, my partners pushed for expensive marketing and a luxurious lifestyle to “look successful.” Each month, expenses grew bigger, and so did my anxiety.
Reality hit during our live workshops. We’d spent thousands on marketing. Only 6 people showed up 😭. Standing in that empty room, I finally saw the truth – it was all smoke and mirrors. I lost not just money but my confidence and identity as a coach.
I had 2 choices: keep pretending and go bankrupt or start over authentically. I chose to start over.
I already knew how to present my coaching, so rebuilding the business was not hard. 5 years in a row, my coaching business kept growing 📈. I wrote 5 books and created many e-courses and online programs until we made our biggest dream come true – my wife and I bought our sea view apartment.
The whole year, we did a renovation. Meanwhile, my business was shrinking.
I’ll never forget that gut-wrenching moment in 2019. I was hosting another webinar, watching my dream die in real time. Only 40 people showed up. Just two years earlier, I’d easily draw 300 excited people to these events. Now? It felt like speaking into a void.
Sure, my loyal clients kept me afloat, but new clients didn’t come in. I threw everything at fixing it – thousands on Facebook ads, new programs, endless content creation. Each failure crushed my spirit more than the last.
God saved me! He sent me a coach who suggested something that felt like a punch to my ego – create a low-ticket online program. Me? The premium coach?
But that one shift changed everything. People who started with the affordable program got real results and naturally wanted more.
In 2020, despite COVID, my business reached new heights. I had so many clients like I never had before.
The Russian-Ukrainian War destroyed my Russian-speaking coaching business overnight as most of my clients were from Russia. In one day, I lost everything.
In February 2023, I hit rock bottom. The pressure of building in a new market broke me completely.
That inner critic was screaming day and night: “You’re not good enough. Your English isn’t perfect. Who would want you as their coach?”
After a depression, I got an insightful but almost unrealistic idea – try myself in the English-speaking market! But my English was NOT fluent! I felt like a beginner all over again. My accent made me doubt myself. My confidence was shattered.
But in that darkness, I discovered something powerful: What we think makes us weak can become our
greatest strength.
I know you can bring steady income without complicated marketing tricks or pretense. Because I’ve learned that true success isn’t about looking perfect – it’s about being real, caring deeply, and having the courage to share your gifts with the world.
If you’re standing at that crossroads right now – feeling the pull toward coaching while wrestling with fear and doubt just book a call with me and let’s connect. Your desire to help others isn’t just a dream. It’s your soul calling you home to who you’re meant to be. I feel you. I know what you’re going through. And I want you to know – you’re not alone on this journey.
