There were days I lost all hope. My dream of having my own coaching business felt like a joke while I was stuck in my day job, feeling miserable. Every morning I’d wake up with this heavy feeling in my chest, wondering if I should just give up.
The way prospects behaved killed me inside:
- They’d ask about my price and then disappear like ghosts – no answer, nothing. The silence hurt more than a simple “no.” I’d check my phone a hundred times a day, hoping for their response
- They’d get super excited, saying “I’ll think about it,” making me believe I finally got a client. Then complete silence. That false hope was worse than rejection
- They’d tell me “it’s too expensive,” but later I’d find out they paid someone else even more money. Talk about a punch to the gut I took it personally. I never followed up with them. I told myself “if they want to buy, they’ll reach out.” But deep inside, I was dying, questioning if I was good enough to be a coach. Every night I’d lay in bed wondering what I was doing wrong.

“Go back to free coaching? No way in hell,”
Those “free” clients squeezed me dry. They didn’t even say “thank you.” Instead, they demanded instant replies and endless support. When I couldn’t answer in a few hours, they got mad at me. The pressure was huge, but I got nothing in return. And when I finally asked them to pay for coaching, they accused me of being greedy. It felt like a slap in the face.
I was giving my heart and soul to help people, and all I got back was blame and criticism. Some days I felt so worthless I couldn’t even look at myself in the mirror.
Then I did something crazy: I made an anonymous survey asking prospects why they didn’t buy.
- They couldn’t see what exactly they’d get – how would coaching change their life?
- There was no urgency – “Why start now? I can do it anytime”
- They were scared to invest money without guaranteed results
Here’s what blew my mind: Nobody doubted if I was a good coach. For 6 painful months, I’d been killing my confidence over things that existed only in my head. The relief I felt was indescribable.
This changed everything. Instead of hiding my prices and attracting tire-kickers, I faced my fears. I created a super clear sales page that spoke to their real concerns. It showed exactly what they’d get from coaching and how it would transform their life. I even recorded a video showing the real me (I was terrified doing it, my hands were shaking the whole time).
The results were awesome. I got fewer inquiries, but they were serious ones. Within days, I signed my first premium client for a 3-month package – finally proving to myself I was on the right path. That moment of victory made all the struggles worth it.
